Seoul Trip

Jaime and I traveled up to Seoul for the day last Saturday. (Rob and Kari had a sleepover with Nathan at our place for the night). Here are some highlights of our 36 hours of fame and fortune:

Here's a view from our lunch perch in the Seoul Tower Revolving Restaurant. That huge black monolith is our hotel... that's the Han River in the background.

Here is a picture from the reverse angle... from our window in the hotel up at the Seoul Tower.

We got all dressed up and went out on the town for the night. If you're visiting Seoul, I have to recommend staying away from the hotel scene at night... those two drinks you see in the foreground were $32. (Well, 32,000 WON- which is always fun to pay in cash since the Koreans' largest denomination of legal tender is 10,000 WON... $10. It's pretty fun to walk around with a big ol' pimp roll).

We finished the vacation with room service breakfast at the Hyatt. The hotel was rock-star luxurious... all except that ajoining door you see in the background. While it might look like a normal door, in reality it is a space-aged material with supernatural properties: it actually amplifies sound and transmits it into your room. This is especially great when you share a wall with a couple of hopped up rave-heads coming home from the party at 3:30 in the morning. It was fun throwing our dishes at the door at 7 when we got up.
