Our first day trip in Italy was to Pisa... pretty close to a perfect day, in my opinion. We slept in (until Nathan woke us up at 7), loungd around in the morning, then after breakfast, loaded up the Team Freeborn Mystery machine and drove for 45 minutes into Pisa for some sightseeing. We found parking on the street, walked for 10 minutes into the Piazza dei Miracoli (
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Piazza_del_Duomo,_Pisa), ate some gellato, took a few pictures, then back home to play in the vineyards and drink local wine. Vacation rules.
Jaime and Nathan by the leaning (bell) tower. We didn't climb the tower... can't take kiddos up there, so we settled for pictures and people watching at the base.

Ben and Sydney... notice how safe Ben is from night-time vehicular traffic while wearing the kiddo-backpack.

Jaime and Zoe... Zoe wasn't as impressed as the rest of us, but she was interested in getting out of the stroller.

Nathan took this one of Ben and Jaime.
The difference between refugees and tourists? Sense of humor and a bath.
