Happy Birthday Grandpa. I asked Grandpa if he had ever celebrated his birthday in Asia before. He mentioned that while he hadn't actually "celebrated" on this side of the Pacific, he has been here during his birthday on two occations. The first was during the Korean War where we was stationed on Guam... they had a visitor in the form of a Typhoon with winds up to 130mph! His shelter during this malestorm- a Quanset hut lashed down with some steel cable. This is what a Quanset hut looks like (minus the steel cable):
