Culinary Breakthrough!

Jaime and I found this great new restaurant here in Misawa. It's the closest thing to a "Japanese Steakhouse" that we've found actually in Japan. Seems like "Japanese Steakhouses" are mostly an American institution- perhaps owned by Japanese but, as a rule, being located in the USA. Anyhow, we found this great little restaurant... it's actually in someone's house that they've converted into a very comfortable venue. The appetizer was some squid-tempera... thinly-sliced pieces of squid lightly fried. Here's the incredible part: Jaime ate it. Wait it gets better: she actually liked it! Feeling like conquering superheros, we watched the Incredibles when we got home. GREAT MOVIE!
